ill poop it - 1.0

May 31, 2022

It all began on Twitter on the 30 May. The first shitty sneak peaks were revealed to CT and the only engagement one had was only on Twitter. There was no Discord/Telegram channel for anyone remotely interested in the project to join to find out more.

Then, within a few hours, the conditions for mint was revealed. 777 free mints given to the community with the remainder of the 10,000 collection of shit available for public mint at the price of 0.0077 Ethereum.

Within a day, every shit NFT was minted out. A kind note to mark the event coupled with the first reminder to "hold your shit" was posted on Twitter. This too, started the campaign to "shit" on other NFT projects on Opensea, as awareness and volume started to pick up for these digital embodiments of shit.

First recorded flip as the project gained steam
For the OGs, Twitter was a great source of entertainment

Another highlight of the project was engaging with the community, or lack thereof, via Twitter Spaces. People joined the infamous Spaces to hear nothing on the project but getting subjected to non-stop sounds of farting, toilet flushes, and groans of relief.

In the midst of CT still getting to grasp with the launch of the project, hints for the next phase started dropping. Images below, while looking very obvious about what is coming, still wasn't taken very seriously due to the main theme of shit amidst some good old fudding from the general public.

Nevertheless, the persons behind the project's Twitter account continued to engage relentlessly with the growing community. Most users found a huge aspect of fun they never had in a long time, commenting on tweets, creating shit puns, out of shit.

And volume just kept climbing

More hints were dropped and kept everyone wondering what's next on the roadmap. It will be interesting to note that around this time, I believe, was a period of transfer from the speculators to the supporters of the project.

Continuous images were revealed with no explanation and it all was up to the individual to interpret it in his/her own way. In hindsight, this experience was great as it kept up the intrigue and mystery.

Around 24 hours after mint...

Airdrops from the shit devs to the smart contracts of BAYC/MAYC/Otherside were made once overtaken in volume. At this juncture, it was more just for meme's sake in my opinion as organic growth has been achieved and there was probably little benefit in piggybacking on these blue chips.

Early "roadmap" of what is upcoming. It was cryptic with the exception of the issuance of coins. The rest kind of made sense and kind of didn't. BAYC / goblins being in the picture fueled even more speculation amongst the community. The great art got to me though.

Which was eventually confirmed with the image below. And also begins the marketing efforts to Phase 2.0 of the project.
